This article contains instructions for connecting legacy Tablo DVRs to Wi-Fi using the legacy Tablo Android app. This app and method is not supported on the new 4th Generation Tablo. For instructions on how to add the 4th Gen Tablo to your network via Wi-Fi and Android, go here.

This article includes the steps required to add your Tablo to your Wi-Fi network while the Tablo is temporarily using an Ethernet connection. This walkthrough is specifically for Android devices using Android version 10 and above. If you are using an Android device on Android 9 or below, visit this article.

To start, make sure your Tablo is connected to its power supply while an Ethernet cord is connected to both the Tablo and your router. The Tablo's blue LED should be solid blue, not pulsing.

If the LED is not solid, reboot the Tablo by lightly pressing the reset button in the back and quickly letting go.

The Tablo's LED should stop pulsing after 1-2 minutes, assuming it can connect to your router with the Ethernet connection.

Next, begin by downloading the Tablo app from the Google Play store, then open the Tablo app on your Android smartphone or tablet.

If there any firmware updates available for your Tablo at this time, the Tablo app will give you the option to process them. We recommend selecting the UPDATE button (if it is present) and then proceeding to the next step.

Select ADD VIA WI-FI.

You will see the following screen, confirming the Tablo is connected to Ethernet.

Your Tablo will search for nearby Wi-Fi networks. This may take up to 1-2 minutes.

Select your home Wi-Fi network from the list. This is the network your Tablo will join.

Once you have typed in your password, hit enter to continue.

Wait 1-2 minutes while the Tablo joins your network.

If the Tablo is successful in joining the Wi-Fi network, the screen below will be displayed. From here, remove the Ethernet cable from the Tablo and place the Tablo in its permanent location.

From here, you can open the Tablo application, connect to the unit and finish the rest of the Setup.
