This article is for 4th Generation Tablo models.
This article walks you through troubleshooting Wi-Fi setup issues with your 4th Generation Tablo using the mobile app.
If the Tablo app does not detect the available Wi-Fi networks in your area, try the iOS or Android app's setup functionality again.
If that fails, close your app. Then go to your Wi-Fi settings on your phone or tablet and look for the Tablo access point, Tablo_XXXX, and connect to it. You will not need a username or password.
If your Tablo's blue LED is pulsing, and you don’t see the Tablo_XXXX network, restart your Tablo by pressing the reset button on the bottom of your Tablo and quickly releasing it. Wait for the blue LED to start pulsing and try to find the Tablo network again.
If the LED on your Tablo is solid blue, and returns to solid blue 1–2 minutes after rebooting, this means the Tablo is already connected to your network. In this case, the Tablo_XXXX will NOT appear, since the Tablo is already online. This is expected, and you should be able to connect to your Tablo with your devices (smartphones, Roku, Fire TV, etc.) as long as they are on the same network as the Tablo.
Once you're connected to your Tablo, launch the Tablo app and, on the CONNECT TO INTERNET screen, click CONNECT WITH WI-FI.
You'll be brought to the CHECK LED INDICATOR screen. At this point, as long as your Tablo does not have an Ethernet cord attached, its blue LED should pulse slowly. Check your 4th Generation Tablo to confirm the LED is pulsing.
Once you have confirmed this, click CONTINUE.
You should now find yourself in the JOIN YOUR WI-FI screen. You should see your home network’s name listed on the screen. If this is the network you would like to add your Tablo to, click USE THIS NETWORK.
If you would prefer to have your 4th Generation Tablo connect to a different network than what appears, click SCAN OTHER NETWORKS. From there, you'll be provided a list of available networks to select.
If you have a dual-band router, both Wi-Fi networks should show up in this list as long as they haven't been assigned the same name. While the 5 GHz band will be faster in optimal conditions, it's not always necessarily the best choice as it has a shorter range. Choose the 5 GHz band if the signal strength indicates a good or great connection. Otherwise, select your 2.4 GHz band.
If you can't find your network, check to see if it's hidden.
After you've chosen your network, you'll be asked for your network's password. Make sure the password field does not auto-capitalize the first character and that no unwanted spaces have been added.
Once you have confirmed your home Wi-Fi network and entered the password, Tablo will attempt to join the network. This process can take a couple of minutes.
Once your Tablo has successfully connected to your Wi-Fi network, its blue LED will stop pulsing and remain solid.
If these steps do not connect your 4th Gen Tablo to your Wi-Fi, try rebooting by pressing and quickly releasing the reset button on the bottom of the box. Then try these steps again.
