Tablo 4th Generation DVRs use the auto-delete feature to remove older recordings to make room for new ones. However, you can always choose to protect recordings from deletion.

To do so, go to LIBRARY and then select the specific airing you wish to protect. Select the PROTECT EPISODE button and your recording will be protected.

On TV-based apps, protected recordings have the Delete Episode button removed. To bring it back you'll need to click UNPROTECT EPISODE.

On iOS and Android phones and tablets, Delete Episode will be visible but disabled.

On TV-based apps, you'll be able to tell which airings are protected or not in the episode listings. They are marked with the protect shield badge.

On iOS and Android phones and tablets, you'll see the shield badge on the main menu for airings as well.

If you use the 4th Generation Tablo's onboard storage or have a smaller hard drive and protect a significant amount of content, it could lead to unprotected recordings being deleted before you can view them or cause your drive to fill up completely.
