If you would like to add a second Tablo to your home network here are a few tips and tricks that will help.
Renaming Your Tablo
We recommend that you rename your current Tablo before starting the setup of your second Tablo. This will ensure you will be able to tell which Tablo is which when they are both connected to the network. Here is how you do this using different legacy Tablo apps:
- Web App: Navigate to the settings screen and at the top of the general section you will be able to rename your Tablo.
- Roku: Navigate to the settings screen and near the bottom you will see the About section. From there you can select Edit to rename your Tablo
- Amazon Fire TV or Firestick: Navigate to the settings screen and near the bottom you will see the About section. From there you can select Edit to rename your Tablo
- Apple TV: Navigate to the settings screen and near the bottom you will see the About section. From there, select your Tablo’s name and you will be brought to a screen so that you can rename it.
- iPad or iPhone: Navigate to the settings screen and near the bottom you will see the About section. From there, tap on your Tablo’s name and you will be brought to a screen so that you can rename it.
- Android Smartphone or Tablet: Navigate to the settings screen and at the top of the general section you will be able to rename your Tablo.
- Android TV: Navigate to the settings screen and near the bottom you will see the About section. From there you can select Edit to rename your Tablo.
Disconnecting Your Tablo
To ensure that you are only seeing the new Tablo on your network, we recommend that you disconnect your first Tablo from the power while you complete the Wi-Fi setup on your new Tablo. After your new Tablo is online and the light is solid blue, you can reconnect the power to your old Tablo.
Splitting Your Antenna Signal Can Reduce Signal Strength
Connecting a second Tablo to the same TV antenna using a splitter will result in a significant loss of signal strength. This means that you may need to add an amplifier to your setup to mitigate the signal loss and ensure all of your channels continue to come in clearly.
