What is Maintenance Mode?

During the early morning hours (around 3:00 a.m. local time), your Tablo DVR will enter a temporary maintenance mode to keep itself up-to-date and working correctly. During this time, the Tablo's blue LED will flash slowly, roughly once per second.

If your LED is set to Dim, it will switch off during this process instead.

Maintenance does the following and more:

  • Download new TV guide data
  • Delete old TV guide data
  • Check for firmware updates

You can still watch live TV and set recordings while scheduled maintenance is taking place.

If you go to the Live TV Grid during maintenance, you'll see the following screen. It will only last for about five seconds before returning access to your Live View.

Be sure to keep your Tablo on and connected to the internet so Maintenance Mode can run smoothly. Not doing so will mean running out of guide data and firmware being out of date.

If your Tablo is not able to download updated TV guide due to an internet and/or power outage, it will attempt to update during the maintenance window on the following day.
