Previously, the 4th Generation Tablo app only supported Amazon Fire TV streaming devices that used the Android-based operating system called Fire OS. The newest Amazon Fire TV Sticks run a brand-new Linux-based operating system called Vega and were incompatible with Tablo. However, that is no longer the case.

You can now enjoy the 4th Gen Tablo app and its many features on all current Amazon Fire TV devices, no matter which OS they run.

Which Fire TV Vega OS Devices Are Compatible with the New 4th Gen Tablo App?

The new Tablo 4th Gen app ensures these Amazon Fire TV Stick models are now compatible:

  • Amazon Fire TV Stick HD
  • Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Select
  • Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K (3rd Gen)

If you use an older Fire TV device running Fire OS, nothing changes, and your Tablo app will continue to work as usual.

How to Download the App

  1. Select the magnifying glass icon on the far left of your Fire TV home screen.
  2. Next, scroll down to where it says Search and enter TABLO.
  3. Select Tablo TV app from the list.
  4. Select Get to start your download.
  5. Once the app is downloaded, you can press the Home button on your Fire TV remote to return to the main menu. The Tablo app will now be in the App section.

The Amazon Appstore automatically delivers the version of the 4th Generation Tablo app that matches your Fire TV device, so there’s no special version to look for no matter what type of Amazon Fire TV device you own.

About the 4th Generation App for Amazon Fire TV Vega Devices

This 4th Gen Tablo app was built specifically for Amazon devices running Vega OS.

It includes all the Tablo features you already enjoy on other Amazon Fire TV devices, including the Live TV Grid, one-click series recording and full pause, rewind and fast-forward control, plus these new additions:

  • Record Live, which lets you start recording the show you’re watching without returning to the guide.
  • Details and troubleshooting help on connectivity screens.
  • Improved overall performance.

This Tablo app is built with React Native, a newer set of app-building tools designed to work across multiple device platforms. It shares much of its code with the latest Tablo app for Samsung TIZEN smart TVs, and the same foundation will bring it to Android TV devices and Amazon Fire TV devices running Fire OS in the coming months.
