A recent Apple TV OS update (tvOS 26.4) added a new Apple feature called Continuous Audio Connection. When this feature is enabled, on Apple TV 4K (2nd and 3rd generation), playback of antenna TV channels fails on the Tablo app for Apple TV. The feature is enabled by default.
We are currently working on a fix, but disabling the feature will allow you to resume enjoying all Tablo content via Apple TV.
The Issue
Apple TV customers running the latest version of tvOS with Continuous Audio Connection enabled will see an error message (Playback Stalled. Check Network Connection.) when they attempt to play over-the-air TV via the Tablo app.
Playback of free streaming channels is unaffected.
If you see a different error message or are experiencing other playback problems with the Tablo app for Apple TV, running AND saving a new channel scan can help resolve this.
The Workaround
Until a fix is available, please disable Continuous Audio Connection in your Apple TV's settings.
To do so, follow these steps:
1) From your Apple TV's home screen, select SETTINGS (the gear icon).
2) In SETTINGS, select AUDIO AND VIDEO
3) In Audio AND VIDEO, select AUDIO FORMAT
4) Set CONTINUOUS AUDIO CONNECTION to OFF.
