Tablo’s Legacy Transition Program is designed to allow owners of eligible legacy network-connected Tablo devices to access and manage those DVRs via newer 4th Generation Tablo apps.
This capability is enabled by a Tablo firmware update (version 2.2.58).
The benefits of transitioning to using 4th Generation Tablo apps include:
- A fully revamped and easy-to-use interface.
- Subscription-Free TV guide data and DVR features, including the ability to set series recordings.
- Access to 60+ free streaming channels within the 4th Generation Tablo interface (US residents only).
Tablo Devices Eligible for the Legacy Transition
The following legacy network-connected Tablo devices are eligible for the legacy transition:
Original 2-Tuner Tablo
Original 4-Tuner Tablo
Tablo DUAL LITE
Tablo DUAL 64 GB
Tablo DUAL 128 GB
TABLO QUAD
Tablo QUAD 1 TB
Tablo Devices Ineligible for the Legacy Transition
The following Tablo models are not eligible for the legacy transition. Owners of these devices were eligible for a trade-in coupon offer to upgrade to the 4th Generation Tablo. The program expired on March 15th, 2026.

If you own a TV-connected Tablo (DUAL HDMI and Tablo QUAD HDMI), your Tablo’s onboard interface and the legacy Tablo apps that support in-home streaming will remain accessible but won't be maintained or updated. Legacy Tablo apps also won't be available to download from app stores after September 1st, 2026.
Options Moving Forward
Tablo DUAL HDMI and QUAD HDMI owners can continue to use the Tablo’s onboard interface and the legacy Tablo apps that support in-home streaming from TV-connected Tablo devices as long as those apps remain functional.
However, since TV-connected legacy Tablo devices cannot transition to using 4th Generation Tablo apps, it may be advisable to upgrade to a 4th Generation Tablo device if you would like to maintain long-term whole-home functionality.
Network-Connected Devices on Firmware Earlier than 2.2.10
Legacy Tablo models running very old firmware versions (2.1.0 - 2.2.8) cannot be updated to the required firmware version 2.2.58.
