Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) are often used to enhance online security and privacy. However, the use of VPNs can cause connectivity problems while using Tablo.

If you regularly use a VPN, you will need to disable it when using your Tablo.

Note that this is device-specific.

For example, when a VPN is enabled on a smartphone, it will prevent you from connecting to your Tablo app on that smartphone.

However, it will not have any impact on your TV, unless you are also running a VPN on your television OR streaming device (e.g Fire TV, NVIDIA SHIELD, etc.)

In addition to dedicated VPN services, you may also be utilizing a VPN if:

  • You use anti-virus software that provides VPN access as part of their services
  • You are required to use a VPN on a device you use for work

Please consult the support documentation for the VPN service you use for instructions on how to turn off your VPN when you wish to use Tablo.

iCloud Private Relay

Users of Apple devices may utilize iCloud Private Relay for improved online privacy. This feature functions in a comparable manner to VPNs and will prevent your device from connecting to your Tablo.

You can find Apple's documentation, including instructions on how to toggle the feature on and off here: https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT212614
